A late love letter...

It is crazy to think that we are back home so soon from our stay in Pemba, Mozambique. There are no words to accurately describe all that our hearts felt, but if we were to choose one it would be WONDERFUL!!!! This trip redefined life as we knew it and has brought us deeper into the heart of God. During our three month stay we loved the poor, held the orphan, laughed with the widow all while learning to live without water and loving every moment of being fully immersed in the dirt. Jesus taught us how to see Him in each persons eyes, and how to love the way He loves. Poverty may be a state of living in Mozambique, but it is not a state of heart. The people have no material possessions to give, but they give all they have. You will never go hungry, be homeless or feel cold in Mozambique because their generosity surpasses wealth and defines love. We had the privilege to go to remote villages, share the Gospel and show the Jesus film. Many Mozambicans from other faiths came to Jesus and were powerfully healed of sicknesses, diseases and idolatry. In turn they gained forgiveness, health, joy, peace and most of all eternal life! We saw miracles signs and wonders, but it's just a byproduct of who God is, His perfect love and grace poured out. In teams we went to these villages to give, but in the end we gained. We learned from them how to love, how to share, how to live in community and how to be thankful. We are not defined by the place we live in, by the amount of money that is in our bank accounts or who we know, but by our decisions, actions and choices. Love is a choice. When God created the continent of Africa He did not frown upon it and curse it. Mozambique is the most beautiful place we have ever seen. Gods fingerprint is EVERYWHERE! From the breath taking beaches to the majestic mountains. It all speaks of His glory! It is so beautiful to have been part of Iris Ministries and see the change laid down lovers of Jesus are bringing to the nation.

At the end of the day as we sit in our air conditioned house with running water, we can't help but miss the sound of children playing, women singing Makua songs outside our window, bumpy camion rides and most of all rice and beans. We are so thankful for each and every person that supported us on this journey. We pray that you will one day have the privilege to be loved by the unloved of the world!

MISSIONS UPDATE!

Mirella: Europe has my heart! I have the honor to be traveling the continent with a team of laid down lovers to every country in Europe! We will go to poor villages, big cities and churches and share the love of Jesus with the world. Please pray for me as I embark on this new journey for the next few months, loving the people of Europe.

Clelia: Africa will always be the place I call home! Keep me in prayer as I prepare to move to Africa long term. In my lifetime I believe that there will be no more orphans and that the slave will be set free!

X END IT X

Yesterday was a day to raise awareness and shine a light on the reality that slavery still exists in the world today. Every minute TWO children are sold into slavery. Over ONE MILLION children lose their childhood to slavery each year. This is not only happening in foreign countries but in our very own backyard. 17,500 people are trafficked into the United States annually. There are 27 MILLION slaves in the world today. That is more than any other time in recorded history. Yup you read right, including the African Slave Trade. Countless women and children are being raped, sold and abused each day. Men, woman and kids work countless hours in inhumane conditions. It is crucial for us to know what is happening in our world and break the silence. Injustice has gone on for too long, and we are to be Jesus' hands and feet and help set the captives free. If a group of people can bring that much evil into the world, then how much more healing, hope, truth, awareness and love can we bring to a hurting world. The lyrics of "What the World Needs Now is Love" speak perfectly about the need of society:

"What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone"

We CAN make a change, we CAN make a difference. Jesus came to set the captive free and love people back to life. This too is our calling on the earth. Spread awareness and stand against injustice!

"You love until there is pain, you love through the pain, until all that remains is love."

If there is ever a day to celebrate it's today!!! Love died so we could be free, and there is no one on earth who deserves honor like Jesus! Today was our Easter Bake Sale and it was such a blessing! We had so many delicious goodies and we are so thankful for the incredible team of loving family and friends who helped and supported us! Let the love pounds grow!
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10

A dream is a wish your heart makes...

Whoever said dreams don't come true has not met the creator of dreams! Here we are just two average normal sisters who believed for something more and dared to live for Love regardless of what the world's standards are. Jesus has undoubtedly changed the entire course of our being. His unconditional perfect love has taken us captive and we are completely his! God has put a burden for the nations in our hearts for quite some time, and now we are beginning to see the first of many fruits! Even if we would have planned this it could not have happened as perfectly as it did. Not only do we have the privilege to be Christ's ambassadors, but we get to do it together as best friends. This summer we will be in Pemba, Mozambique (Africa) ministering alongside Iris ministries. Heidi and Roland Baker are incredible apostles with a powerful ministry that is not only impacting Africa but many other parts of the world. Their ministry has personally impacted our lives, and we are so  excited to grow and see God's power invade the land as we go out and minister to those in need! During our 3 month stay we will be involved in extended evangelistic outreaches in local bush areas, live with hundreds of children on the ministry base and experience the Father's heart, gain understanding of how to minister cross-culturally, all while getting equipped for the physical challenges of third-world nations. We simply cannot wait! Jesus came so that we can have life abundant through him. We are the carriers of his heart and kingdom, and believe that no matter where you live, what your background is, or who you are his love will save the day.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."
